Our inspirational selection of carvings from across the Northern Territory includes pieces from Larrakia Nation, Groote Eylandt, Arnhem Land, the Central Desert and the Tiwi Islands.

The carvings are made from a wide range of timbers, from the Tiwi Islands' famous ironwood, to the soft bean wood of East Arnhem Land. As well as functional pieces, such as canoes, spears, boomerangs and coolamons, Aboriginal people create hand-carved, painted and burnt pieces to preserve and share their history and continuing culture.

Our decorative and functional carvings are easily packed and protected for international and domestic visitors, and are a beautiful memento of a visit to Darwin.
