Djardi was born in the bush and went to school at Milingimbi. He was taught to paint by his father and also the father of artist Bob Bunungurr. His major theme is pertaining to the stone quarry within his country that produced stone spear heads to Arnhem Land. He also paints aspects of the Wagilag Dreaming that belongs to his clan.

 

Djardi has exhibited extensively overseas, and he is a previous winner of the National Aboriginal Art Award. He is married to George Milpurrurru’s sister, Dorothy Djukulul.
